Swyft Filings Bills Four Times a Year. Michigan Bills Once.
Get resident agent representation in Michigan for $99 annually. The price covers the registered office address, same-day scanning of legal documents, and state-deadline alerts.
A bias statement belongs at the top of any comparison written by a seller, so here is ours. MI Registered Agent.org holds Michigan resident agent appointments at $99 a year and would like to hold yours instead of watching Swyft Filings hold it. Everything below about Swyft's billing comes from that company's published structure, quoted as we found it in July 2026.
The Price Is Posted, and Quarterly Suits Some Owners
Swyft Filings does publish what it charges, which puts it ahead of vendors that reveal a renewal only at the order screen. The company is an established filing operation, and there are owners for whom paying in quarters genuinely helps: a smaller charge four times a year lands more gently on a thin operating account than one larger charge in January. If that is your cash flow, the structure is doing something for you and this page will not pretend otherwise.
Four Charges Add Up Before You Notice
Registered agent service from Swyft Filings runs $149 billed quarterly. Multiplied out, that is roughly $596 across a year, and our July 2026 check surfaced no distinct first-year discount to soften it. The figure that appears on the page you are reading is $149. The figure that leaves your account over twelve months is close to six hundred dollars. Both numbers are true; only one of them is printed.
Michigan is a useful place to think about per-period arithmetic, because the state itself charges by the month, but only when you are late. Miss the February 15 annual statement and the penalty accrues at $10 for each month or part of a month you remain delinquent, capped at $50. Leave the statement unfiled for two consecutive years and the LLC drops out of good standing under Michigan's LLC Act, exposed to administrative dissolution, with the company name released back into the pool for someone else to register. Note the difference in design. Michigan's recurring charges have a ceiling written into them. A quarterly subscription has none, and it renews four times as often as anyone remembers to review it.

One Invoice, One Number
Ready when you are. Ordering takes about five minutes.
Order HereWe bill once a year for $99, and the renewal reads $99. Documents served on our Michigan office are scanned the same business day and posted to your portal with an email alert attached, so the clock that started when the process server arrived is not also running while paperwork sits in a tray. Your public agent line carries our address. Your February 15 reminder arrives with time to act on it. The one priced extra is $15 per item for scanning ordinary business mail, which most clients never use and everyone can see before ordering.
The cheapest-in-the-state claim is off the table for us, and honestly so. BetterLegal advertises $90 a year, below our $99. What we will stand behind: among Michigan agent services publishing a flat annual price, ours ranks among the lowest, and unlike a quarterly plan it announces its full yearly cost in the first sentence.
Ending the Quarterly Cycle: Swyft Filings to a Michigan Agent
Michigan's change certificate, CSCL/CD-520, is what moves the appointment. It goes to LARA's corporations bureau with a $5 fee and can be submitted electronically or by mail. That is the whole mechanism: no supporting resolution, no amendment to your Articles of Organization, no separate filing for the registered office if it is changing at the same time.
The sequence is not negotiable, because the form has a blank for the incoming agent. Put the new agent under contract, file the certificate, watch for the state record to show the update, and only then stop the Swyft billing. The outgoing agent covers you until LARA posts the change, so cancelling last is what keeps the appointment continuous rather than what delays your savings. Our change of agent page documents each field.
On timing, quarterly billing gives you a useful marker most vendors do not. You know almost exactly when the next $149 posts. Work backwards from that date and file with room to spare.
The February 15 filing itself is explained on our annual statement page.
